Established in 1953, Sacchettificio Monzese S.r.l., was born as a family-ruled business for paper envelope manufacturing.
At the beginning all our products were hand made and were used in stationery market and private mailing.

At its establishment the small business human resources consisted of the two founder partners, Mr Cesare Rovelli and Mrs Adalgisa Genovesi, and one employee only.

In 1956, due to the steady demand, it was necessary for the Business to be moved to a new headquarter while the employees were already six.

The output was quite diversified in different items, such as paper envelope, paper sack envelope (i. e. with the flap located on the short envelope dimension), still hand-made, and cardboard boxes for a famous cake manufacturing.

At the beginning of the 60s, the first automatic paper open end envelope manufacturing machinery were purchased, the business moved to a new headquarter, and the employee number raised until 10 units.

During the 70s and the 80s six new machines were acquired and the business were able to produce up to 500.000 sack envelopes per day.

In 1983 the production of paper envelope by using automatic machinery were initiated.

1992 was a memorable year in the history of Sacchettificio Monzese, since its name was recorded in Guinness Book for the biggest envelopes in the world: "REGINA", sizes 516 x 736 cm , "RE" whose sizes are cm 755 x 757, "PRINCIPESSA" 414x865 with a window whose format is cm 137x342: 5 people and 350 hours work were needed.

On September the 1st 1996 Sacchettificio Monzese, finally moved to the present headquarter in Vimercate, 2 via S. d'Acquisto, a new and modern building of 6000 squared meters, 4500 covered.
Nowadays more than 30 employees work in Vimercante and we cover the whole Italian Market by a network of agents or by direct sale and some foreign supply.

Since 1998 we have had a Stand at the most important specialised national Fair of the branch, BIG BUYER, which acts up in Verona Fiere during the second half of November every year, and since January 2003 also at Messe Frankfurt at PAPERWORLD.

Our daily output, nowadays, is more than two million envelopes and bags.

Although nowadays Sacchettificio Monzese maintains the peculiarity of a typical Italian family ruled business, it has become one of the main actor of the Italian paper envelope market and its current growth will enable it to be competitive in the future challenges of the European Market.
