World Biggest Envelopes - Re: 755x757 cm

Guinness World Records: the biggest envelopes in the world!

In 1992, together with the Finnish paper manufacturer, Veitsiluoto Oy we made the biggest envelopes in the world. Three envelopes were made to a scale of three standard envelopes to represent the three envelope branches: commercial envelopes, envelopes with a window and pocket envelopes. All three envelopes were made from uncoated paper (Lumimail of 100 gr/m2) and naturally from a single sheet. It took five people and 350 hours' work to make them.

Industry experts consider them true paper documents and they were presented on Monday 13 January 1992 at our headquarters; they entered the Guinness World Records in the same year as: World Biggest Envelopes.

The three biggest envelopes in the world are:
  • Regina: the biggest commercial envelope in the world, with diamond flap.
    • Dimensions: 736 cm bottom by 516 high.
    • Size: 37,9 m2.
    • Weight: 10,266 Kg.
    • Initial size of paper used: 102,6 m2.
  • Principessa: the biggest window envelope in the world, permanent peel and seal.
    • Dimensions: 865 cm bottom by 414 high.
    • Dimensions of window: 342 cm bottom by 137 high.
    • Size: 35,5 m2.
    • Weight: 8,039 Kg.
    • Initial size of paper used: 80,3 m2.
  • Re: the biggest pocket envelope in the world, with permanent peel and seal.
    • Dimensions: 757 cm bottom by 755 high.
    • Size: 57,1 m2.
    • Weight: 12,968 Kg.
    • Measurement of the closing flap: more than 60 cm.
Now, more than 18 years down the track, Regina, Principessa and Re are still the biggest envelopes in the world.

DID YOU KNOW: one of the envelopes was stamped with 50 x 750 Italian lire stamps and postmarked with a special philatelic cancellation by the Monza post office...
Regina also successfully participated in the Guinness World Records for the biggest greeting card in the world.
